We are currently seeking a Part Time Reporting Accountant, responsible for the externally reported consolidated financial results of the AstraZeneca PLC group. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain experience and advance your career as part of a small but diverse external reporting team in a FTSE 100 company.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring and managing the accuracy of the accounting records for AstraZeneca UK (the main UK subsidiary);
  • Reviewing the monthly reporting of results into the Group consolidation and review of a number of UK Balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Preparation of interim and annual financial statements for the UK subsidiary;
  • Statutory audit co-ordination.
  • Support for internal tax and transfer pricing queries in relation to the UK financial statements;
  • Preparation of profit forecasts;
  • Supporting the Group Finance Transformation project team;


Other responsibilities in our team will include:
  • Working on the Group Annual Report;
  • Assisting with period refreshes of the Group Accounting Manual;
  • Co-ordination of the Group defined benefit pension scheme accounting; and Managing the Group inter-company close process

Key skills / experience
  • ACA or equivalent qualification with relevant post qualified experience;
  • Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP requirements;
  • UK Statutory Financial Statement reporting;
  • Be able to demonstrate strong technical and analytical accounting skills,
  • Experience of financial controls; and
  • External auditor liaison.

Desirable skills / experience
  • SAP experience; and
  • Experience of working with outsourced providers
