How you’ll make an impact

This role is responsible for creating independent, skilled and confident Xero Partners, namely accountants within Accountancy Practices or Bookkeepers. As an Inside Consultant you will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of business plans for the Partners to implement their online strategies.

You will help our partners with any technical issues or queries, often conveying technical information to non technical users as well as answering questions on the day to day use of the software.

You will be critical to both Xero’s growth and that of our partners by helping them achieve tangible benefits and efficiencies within their practice through the use of Xero technologies.

The Inside Consulting Team operates from our offices in Cape Town and you will use telephone and video conferencing technology to engage with our partners.  

This will give you the opportunity to drive the digitisation of accounting practices around the country by giving them a technological edge and inspiring them to be more digitally innovative.

What you’ll do

Additional (non-core) Responsibilities

• Form effective relationships with our Partners to accelerate the migration of client accounts from legacy systems to the Xero platform
• The Inside Consultant should be helping our partners to quickly, effectively and professionally use Xero to deliver their own services to clients as well as delivering partner return on investment with Xero
• Work closely with Partners and other stakeholders within Xero to architect the most appropriate Xero deployment plans
• Communicate risks and obstacles to rapid deployment success internally within Xero such that remedial action can be considered and actioned
• Contribute to and assist in the management of Partner Implementation Plans - providing appropriate support and guidance to ensure success
• Cultivate relationships with ‘Xero Champions’ in target Partners 
• Utilise your experience and Xero knowledge to challenge and improve the use of Xero and associated tools (Partner Add-Ons, Practice Software)
• Update the CRM system with all client communications including calls, emails and meetings
• Respond in a timely manner to Partner enquiries
• In addition to the above (core) responsibilities the Consultant may be asked to 
• Present at Xero Workshops, Roadshows and other partner facing conferences
• Support the UK and EMEA Education Team to help develop best of breed self-implementation resources

What you’ll bring with you

• Experience of working within an accountancy practice and on Xero would be ideal.
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• A recognised accountancy qualification
• Xero expertise and/or other accounting software knowledge would be advantageous
• Xero certification
• Experience with Google Applications and CRM systems ideal
• Initiative and ability to work autonomously as well as effectively collaborate with team members
• Attention to detail, process and follow-up
