Coordinate and manage the GL functions in accordance to corporate, regional and/or local requirements including but not limited to financial and management reporting, analysis and review of performance by the assigned BU, yearly budgeting process, ad-hoc projects, proper maintenance of accounting records etc in timely and accurate manner.

At this juncture, a great opportunity has become available for a self-starter who is technically strong in accounting standards and experienced in share services centre environment! My client is looking for a vibrant and talented professional to be on-boarded as an GL Manager overseeing a team of 10 -15 teamsize, supporting Southeast Asia countries.
Description
- Oversee and manage the GL team to ensure the GL operations & reporting are completed in within SLA, with integrity and compliance.
- Support the monthly closing activities such as journal posting for accruals/reclass/adjustment and P&L analysis.
- Preparation of the monthly financial reports (P&L) and balance sheet reconciliation in accordance to company and/or country local accounting standard.
- Provide quality performance variance analysis and feedback to any queries from corporate or regional relating to the performance of the entities/branches
- Support timely filing of statutory accounts and income tax returns for all entities. Liaise with auditors & tax team for interim, pre-final, year -end audits and JSOX audits.
- Engage and collaborate with the Country Finance Controllers to resolve issues and maintain clean and accurate financial reporting.
- Build strong rapport and maintain good working relationship with various stakeholders in a multicultural and international environment
- Prepare and conduct Quarter Business Review with Regional Finance stakeholders to highlight service performance and any issues escalation for resolution.
- Manage, coach, motivate and provide timely guidance/support to staff to develop a high performing and engaging team.
- Ensure effective transfer of knowledge and continuous improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of the services of the team.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce redundancies, improve quality and efficiency and value add to the organization.
Profile
The ideal individual will possess strong interpersonal skills and must have the following criteria:
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting and equivalent qualification, CPA/ACCA/MIA/ICAEW/MBA is a highly regarded
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant working experience in accounting function, with at least 3 years of managerial experiences in a Finance SSC or MNC environment.
- Strong leadership skillset and demonstrate a decisive coaching leadership style
- Good working knowledge of IFRS and tax rules
- Strong advocate of continuous improvement opportunities with ability to drive standardization
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment with a good command of spoken and written English
- SAP or any other EPR accounting software exposure.
