THE CLIENT

You will be the Divisional Finance Director for a recently acquired financial services / insurance business in West Kent. This company is one of the most recent in a series of acquisitions, and offers local commercial exposure, business partnering and analytical duties as well as technical control and reporting to the ambitious and growing parent company.

Description

THE ROLE

As Divisional Finance Director you will enjoy a broad and varied position. This will include assisting the Managing Director in setting strategic direction for the company, delivering growth & profitability of the business.

You will take overall responsibility for Finance, whilst assisting the Managing Director with Compliance, Property and IT functions.

As the company has recently been acquired you will initially assist with the following areas before they move across to the parent company shared service function:

  • Financial planning - annual budgets & 3 year forecasts
  • Timely production of monthly management accounts, reconciliations & invoice processing
  • Production of insurer bordereau and completion of statement reconciliations for all insurers
  • Ensure timely production of statutory accounts & tax returns through production of working files
  • Cash flow management
  • Ad hoc project management
  • Responsibility for monthly payroll through production of information & liaison with payroll provider
  • Provide timely daily, weekly & monthly MI to the business
  • Regular liaison with Aston Lark on commercial matters
  • Management of small team of 3-5 staff

As the more transactional and reporting functions transfer across to the shared service centre, the role will become more commercially focused, serving as a strong business partner to the division

Profile

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You will be a strong, preferably qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA OR CIMA), with strong commercial experience.

You will have strong analytical and Excel skills and the ability to communicate with and influence senior stakeholders

Experience of working in a regulated environment - Financial Services / Insurance - would be highly advantageous.

Job Offer

Basic salary of up to £75,000 + benefits including bonus potential, healthcare and pension.
