Deputy Group Head, Fund Services & Administration

Description

• A varied multi-tasking role leading and managing the alternative investment services department dedicated to servicing a group of high profile Hedge Funds of Funds

• Lead operations, stakeholder management, client relationship management, staff management and client reporting for the group

• Overall leadership and coaching of staff including Managers, Supervisors and their direct reports

• Oversee recruitment, staff assessment and capacity planning

• Create an environment of co-operation and initiative through appropriate delegation, empowerment, training and motivation

• Oversee the daily operations of the teams and provide support and guidance in accomplishing department goals, service levels and client deliverables

• Active client relationship management in cooperation with local office counterparts

• Review performance reports and dashboards across teams to ensure targets are met

• Anticipate and resolve work concerns and exercise sound judgment to make appropriate adjustments as necessary

• Assess areas of risk on each team and within the department and implement processes to address areas of concern

• A champion in developing a forum dedicated to sharing best practices and improving processing standards

• Develop, maintain and validate department operational procedures and guidelines

• Contribute to the roll out and success of the global processing initiative, working closely with colleagues in multiple locations globally, and ensure ongoing monitoring of control environment

• Undertake ongoing and ad-hoc operational reviews, participate in global policy decisions, lead workshops to establish and modify operational workflows

• Identify, recommend and assist in implementing enhancements where procedures, processes, controls and client servicing may be improved

Profile

• Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance/Economics or any related course
• 10+ year experience in Financial Services, preferably in a Fund Accounting / Fund of Funds Accounting Environment with technical knowledge of accounting functions, such as Portfolio and Cash reconciliations, Portfolio Valuations and NAV calculations across different fund types
• 7+ year experience managing people
• Experience or knowledge of Custody processes and functions an advantage
• Exposure to systems implementations and work flow process initiatives would be a distinct advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
