Job Description & Summary
A career within Accounting Consulting Services will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for complex financial reporting issues around deals and other transformational events. You'll tackle client's needs with a solution oriented approach that creatively addresses complex financial reporting problems for high profile transactions and you'll have significant interaction with senior company management teams, bankers, lawyers and other advisers.

With PwC, you'll ignite a meaningful career while being supported by a flexible working culture, innovative learning and development opportunities and progressive policies and benefits, such as 18 weeks paid parental leave for mums, dads and foster carers (no minimum service!)

What will you create?

You'll help Australian businesses, not-for-profits and governments create value and improve the way they work. From digitising healthcare, to creating smarter cities and igniting our start-up industry, together we build trust in society and solve important problems.

Accounting Consulting Services, as part of our Assurance business, brings this to life by helping clients further enhance the quality of their accounting outcomes and financial reporting alongside the delivery of audit services.

As an Accounting Policy Specialist in our Accounting Consulting Services team focusing on financial instruments your impact will be seen by:
  • Helping our clients and engagement teams to understand financial instrument and hedging related accounting and financial reporting complexities, through expert guidance and advice.
  • Leading training, presenting at internal & external conferences, developing thought leadership and contributing to team initiatives in order to build your reputation as a financial instrument subject matter expert in this space.
  • Developing deep technical knowledge and expertise in the application and interpretation of accounting standards, policy and the evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Building networks and meaningful connections within our Global Accounting Consulting Services network to stay abreast of issues impacting the financial services and corporate treasury industries, clients and engagement teams.

About you

You have an extensive technical accounting standards or policy background, from either professional services or a large reputable corporate environment, having focused on financial instrument and hedging related topics. You are skilled in advising on and dealing with the practical application of complex accounting issues and hold an understanding of how to quickly absorb complex technical information, identify and translate this into the commercial implications for clients and engagement teams.

Passionate about being at the forefront of change, you're ready to help our Assurance team solve complex accounting issues, build trust in the work we do and provide confidence on the bigger decisions.

You're collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment. You're a problem solver by nature and want to join a firm that values the kind of people who reimagine the possible for their clients and stakeholders. Most importantly, you act with integrity and show care for the people you work with.

We're committed to building and maintaining a diverse workforce because we know it's only by working together that we can realise the potential of our people, clients and society around us.

We're living this commitment through initiatives including our Reconciliation Action Plan to increase Indigenous employment and employee-led diversity networks promoting cultural, disability, LGBTI and gender equality. At our core we're a people business, which means you'll be supported not just in your professional development but your personal growth as well.
