  • Supervise and manage the Accounting team

  • You should supervise and organize the work of the Accounting Department making sure the deadlines are respected, the information is reliable, the accounting and tax rules have been applied and accounting records are correct.

  • Supervise and manage the Transit team

  • You should supervise the work done by the Transit Department, which includes:

  • a deep review of transit invoices sent by clearing agents

  • a follow up of imports with the level of warehousing available with Customs

  • a follow up of ex-warehousing done every month

  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial reports respecting deadlines

  • This includes:

  • the monthly Group Reporting that should be transmitted to HEAD OFFICE on the fourth working day of each month

  • the mid-year Group consolidation package due around July 20th

  • the year-end Group consolidation package due around February 10th

  • the annual Financial Statements

  • Budgets and Financial Planning

  • You will be in charge of:

  • organizing the annual budget process with all operational departments, setting goals, deadlines, preparing the information to be filled in and compiling all data to present the annual company's budget

  • preparing the business plans over several years

  • preparing the Returns on Investments for new investments projects

  • Procedures and Internal Control

  • You will review, revise or develop procedures relative to the Finance Department such as cash management, banks follow up, purchase procedures, expense reports, reception of suppliers invoices, recovery for customers

  • You will also design policies for other departments such as establishing a list of necessary documentation to transmit to the Sales Department for the opening of a new customer account....

  • You will direct internal controls involving review of accounting and administrative procedures

  • You will organize the work inside the accounting team in order to avoid problems of internal controls

  • Develop external relationship

  • You will liaise with our external auditors to discuss the preparation of Financial Statements and address their concerns

  • You will also be in touch with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, lawyers, bankers, statutory organisations...

  • You will keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation and advise Managing Director, Group Finance Director and Accounts Department accordingly

  • Bank relationships

  • You will be in charge of relationships with Banks and you will in particular:

  • arrange new sources of financing (mid-term loans, leasing, spot lines)

  • negotiate conditions, guarantees provided, etc..

  • negotiate the bank fees for ordinary transactions (transfer fees, fees for documentary collection, etc...)

  • Treasury

  • You should follow treasury and:

  • monitor cash-flows on a daily basis giving instructions for necessary transfers, etc

  • prepare the annual monthly cash

  • adjust monthly forecasts and predict future trends

  • Implementation of Management control

  • The elaboration of the monthly reporting is the opportunity to challenge figures, understand the evolution of the key indicators ratios (scrap rate, productivity, consumption of raw materials, evolution of average selling price, etc...) and offer solutions to improve financial performance.

    You will develop and implement the Management control inside the company, which includes :

  • Determine with each Department which are the key indicator ratios they need and help them to either develop these ratios internally or provide them with the information every month

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities on all aspects of business (bank charges, re-negotiation of some contracts, etc...)

  • You will also develop a reliable cost accounting system that will help the General Management to determine selling prices more precisely. It implies:

    - the updating of the actual pricing system

    - the development of analytical accounting and the implementation of a new pricing model

    10. Management of Customers Accounts

    You will:

  • make sure we have all the necessary legal information from customers to open their accounts

  • prepare a procedure of transfer of a regular customer to a "doubtful account"

  • coordinate the preparation of materials for doubtful customers files

  • follow up doubtful customers' accounts with the Sales Department but also with our external counsellors (lawyers, judicial officers, etc..)

  • Management of Payroll

  • Part of the payroll is externalized to our counsellors and part of the payroll is done internally. You will:

    - supervise the payroll done internally making sure the HR has the correct rates, etc..

    - supervise the payroll done outside by checking the files submitted every month, preparing the accounting records to transfer to the Accounting Department

    - supervise the annual returns prepared by our legal and tax advisor

    12. Management and Maintenance of Information systems

    - You will assure the maintenance and necessary update of the accounting system (Sage)

    - You will assure the maintenance and development of the internal system. You will propose evolutions, new developments, etc in liaison with the Production, Sales and IT Department.

  • Other missions

  • Coordination of the preparation of materials for external audits (Group audits, Tax audits, Customs Audits, etc...)

  • Follow up of Insurances files: reporting of claims, transmission of documents to insurers, evaluation of losses...
