Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the

company's financial commitments are met

•Direct and control finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and

developed.

•Contribute to the achievement of the

company's business objectives by providing

advice and guidance on financial strategy.

•Develop and control the company's annual

operating budget to ensure that all financial

targets are met and financial and statutory

regulations complied with.

•Oversee the preparation of the company's

financial accounts to ensure that these are

presented accurately and on time.

•Develop and maintain all necessary systems,

policies and procedures to ensure effective

and efficient financial management within the company

•Formulate personnel systems and strategies

appropriate to the company's corporate

mission and goals

•Oversee the day to day administration of

the business such as IT services, telephone

services, office space and supplies

Develop and implement an internal audit programme to ensure that the company

complies with financial procedures and regulations.Produce timely financial information for use at board meetings.

• Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are

operating effectively and provide the best value to the company.

Human Resources and Administration

• Will have overall control of the HR function.

Will have overall responsibility for recruiting and selecting staff.

• Overall responsibility for developing remuneration and reward procedures.

• Keeping the board informed on personnel and employee-relations policies, as needed, to

preserve and facilitate company strategy.

• Planning and directing employee training and development programmes.

• Improving management/employee communications, including mediating in disputes and

advising line managers on how to implement personnel policies.

• Ensuring compliance with employment law.

• Ensuring that health and safety procedures at the office and its surrounds are adequate

The Person -Skills

• Able to work extended hours, some weekends, and travel in and out of the country as

needed.

• Good communicator with the ability to negotiate and interact with our business clients

and subcontractors.

• Ability to commit to and strongly maintain business confidentiality.

• Effective and easy communication style, able to relate to a wide range of people in the

company.

• Strong influencing skills and able to contribute effectively to strategy as a management

team member.

• Highly competent in information technology and accounting packages/software.

• An up to date knowledge of relevant financial legislation, accounting conventions and best

practice.

• Strong human resource management expertise - ability to supervise, mentor and engage

staff members and inspire credibility and confidence.

Strong project management expertise - ability to monitor and evaluate multiple projects

with multiple deliverables and deadlines

• Commitment to professionalism and leading by example

Experience of working in the civil or electrical engineering company or industry, will be an

advantage.

• Good understanding of Ghana tax law

Must have 10 to 15 years working experience.

At least 5 years working experience as

Director Finance or equivalent.
