ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively manage the delivery of Group Management and Statutory Reporting information and drive process improvements. Group Management information will include financial information and scenarios required for S&OP meetings, budget and for actuals. This will include co-ordination of assumption and other data inputs, running the forecasting process activities, preparation and generation of financial information and quality review. Process improvements will include identifying key areas for better integration between P&L management (including overheads) and cash flow forecasting with the key objective to drive simplification.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
  • Driving a robust forecasting process for CY + 5 for BAT and industry, including being able to dynamically remodel scenarios as assumptions change.
  • Supporting a smooth quarterly close and commentary process.
  • Investigating and responding to ad-hoc queries relating to financial performance, particularly focused on the P&L.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture, to release time and add value resulting in improvements to financial results.  This will involve being at the forefront of the applications of analytics, automation and robotics tools.
  • Support in operating internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting. This includes ensuring compliance to relevant SOX control requirements in the Planning and Reporting environment.
  • End market Finance business partners: Corporate and Commercial Finance team members at the end market, to drive a robust management forecasting and reporting process, provisioning of financial insights, ad-hoc analysis, and facilitating an environment where simplification and continuous improvement are prioritised.
  • Local GBS teams: This role works closely with other local GBS Finance teams (including Planning & Reporting and Accounting Services) and will have opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to focus on specific process improvement and/or analysis and insight projects.
  • Above-market stakeholders: This role will involve interaction with Regional Corporate Finance, including managing reporting timelines and responding to ad-hoc queries.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • At least 6 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment
  • SAP (ECC6 and BPC) used extensively in the delivery of this role's responsibilities, experience in Hyperion HFM is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and at least intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience in PowerBI and automation tools (e.g. UI Path, Alteryx) would be highly regarded.
  • Able to drive projects and process improvements and handle a remote customer base model
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls
  • Degree educated with professional accountancy qualification (i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
