The Role Responsibilities
  • Help define the book of work that refines the processes that compute and books Technology and other Recharges in Technology & Innovation (T&I) Division. Project manage the overall deliverables and hold the wider team to account re milestones and outcomes.
  • Work with T&I to better define and implement consistent service pricing and recovery principles.
  • Work with T&I to influence the linkage of T&I non-financial data with finance MIS and processes.
  • Manage the book of work that provides improved MIS via tools such as Apptio on cost transparency of T&I cost base. Drive the delivery across the T&I teams.
  • Drive improvements in MIS on vendor spend that enables better planning and forecasting capability. In particular, the flow through impact of projects closing into BAU spend.
  • Help influence improvements in vendor spend P&L and Balance Sheet processes and controls that minimises volatility and erroneous errors in accruals and prepayments across T&I cost base.
  • Work with Investment Finance team to help embed improvements to the ways in which we account for investment spend within T&I as part of the wider new ways of working being implemented across the bank.
  • Represent Functions Finance teams within the Aspire programme (finance transformation) regarding any scoping requirements, cascade communications into teams such as T&I finance and ensure that any downstream work implications from Aspire are understood and planned accordingly.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified finance individual with 10 year's experience of working in finance departments
  • Degree qualified
  • Familiarity with SCB finance processes and systems
  • Be able to constructively challenge and influence where appropriate to ensure the overall goals of the business and the bank are aligned
  • Strong SCB finance network
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to various senior stakeholders
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Evidence of extensive experience in re-engineering processes, driving continuous improvements and project management.
  • Extensive experience of cost allocation processes in a large-scale organisation- ideally technology cost recovery processes.
