Utilise your experience in Enterprise Data Management in the Financial Services sector in this newly created role within Macquarie's Financial Management Group. In this key business focused role, you will be required to work with the business cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence your key stakeholders.

In this role you will work closely with senior members of Finance and the business teams to drive data provisioning & enhancing data quality in a high-profile, change-oriented team.

You will be a self-starter, curious and driven, with the ability to self-manage workload and deadlines whilst maintaining a degree of accuracy and quality.

Your strong analytical, problem solving skills, coupled with your experience within Finance and/or product knowledge of financial instruments, will ensure you are successful in this role.

An understanding of Enterprise Data Management and data quality concepts would be desirable for this role.

Detailed Role & Responsibilities:

As a Data business analyst in data governance team for various mandatory and regulatory projects your key focus would be:
  • Ensure data risks are managed by supporting the team to:
    • evaluate aggregate data risks within the Group.
    • ensuring controls are implemented and tested for effectiveness
    • support monitoring of controls effectiveness
    • maintain strong working relationships with the risk management teams (FORM, Assurance)
  • Ensure management understanding of data quality issues and impacts:
    • engage with the Operations & Data Quality team to confirm issue status
    • perform thematic analysis of data incidents and issues
    • engage with stakeholders (Data Owners) to validate observations and agree call outs
    • ensure material issues are escalated / have visibility to data governance forums
  • Ensure risk / control gaps and or data quality issues are addressed by supporting the team to:
    • establish remediation plans for gaps and thematic/material data issues
    • ensure solutions are aligned to data frameworks and strategies
    • monitor actions to ensure delivery within agreed timelines
    • deliver status updates to the Data management team and Stakeholders (Data Owners)

You will bring to this role:

To be successful in this role, you will have 3-4 years of relevant experience in Data and Information Management roles as Data Business Analyst in the Financial Services industry. Regulatory projects experience within the financial services industry is preferred.

Working at the interface of business and technology teams, you will also possess:
  • an understanding of Enterprise Data Management and data quality concepts would be desirable
  • business Intelligence tool experience an advantage, for example Informatica, Alteryx and PowerBI
  • be analytical and have demonstrated experience in effective problem solving
  • experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • finance and/or product knowledge of financial instruments is preferred
