This global mining company is looking for a Business Analyst to join the team on an initial 6-month contract across a global multi-year piece of work. Collaborating with local and geographically remote stakeholders internationals at all levels of the organisations, both technical and non-technical, you will be responsible for the early shaping and definition of projects to build business cases for the initiation of brand new projects that will add value to the business and its customers!
You will be gathering all types of requirements including but not limited to quality, functional, non-functional and customer requirements, as well as working with all sorts of stakeholders to translate the business requirements into technical, non-technical and measurable deliverables.

Responsibilities
- Investigate operational requirements, problems and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes in order to achieve fit for purpose solutions
- Works with stakeholders to identify potential benefits and available options for consideration and in defining acceptance tests.
- Work as a critical part of the team to define requirements for procurement exercises and assist with selection processes
- Defines scope and business priority-setting for change initiatives
- Elicits and analyses requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate.
- Produces reliable cost estimates for the resources (labour, materials, equipment and services) required to complete change initiatives based on scope, requirements, risk and complexity.
- Obtains formal agreement by stakeholders and recipients to scope, requirements and budget.
- Builds and refines the programme and project business cases and assists in presenting these and managing the process to secure funding to initiate or continue work within the programme.
- Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders in order to ensure collaboration in requirements gathering, solution definition and related estimates.
- Facilitates business decision-making processes.
- Captures and disseminates technical and business information.
- Over 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Information Technology
- Experience working within global enterprises across large initiatives as a Business Analyst
- Strong experience in the creation of business cases together with ability to present and secure funding
- Strong experience in engaging with customers and global IT colleagues to develop requirements.
- Proven leader with the ability to motivate and influence team members from a wide variety of backgrounds to deliver high quality outcome.
