• Location: Negotiable-Flexible (statewide) Lead and manage the delivery of system development and integration and provide high-quality analytics across statewide fuel management operations.

The Strategic Fuel Breaks and Mechanical works program received significant investment that will support community and asset protection and provide strategic advantage for planned burning and fire control operations in the context of a rapidly changing climate.

The Senior Business Analyst and Development Officer will lead and manage the architecture design and integration of data systems, developing intuitive technological products across statewide Fuel Management Operations, including planned burning, strategic fuel breaks and mechanical works.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
  • Qualification or relevant experience in systems development, natural resource management, environmental science or public policy.
  • Experience with GIS / Mapping programs is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience on data collection and reporting projects, and experience with extraction of data from reporting databases and visualization using PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience in designing and developing user friendly web applications focusing on the front end but with exposure to and integration with microservices.
  • Experience of business process re-engineering, data modelling and IT systems implementation.
  • A sound understanding of modern UX theory and practice, willingness to work with agility as part of a cross-functional team.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022. The successful applicant may request to work from any DELWP office location, subject to negotiation and COVID-Safe transitional arrangements.

The department plays a major role in Victoria's emergency response activities, through an all-hazards, all-emergencies approach. Staff undertaking these roles have been quarantined from performing emergency management roles and participation in planned burning operations.
