Interim Payroll Manager required on a 12 month fixed term contract, based in Keynsham, Bristol. The Role

This role is responsible for delivering a timely and accurate payroll services for the UK & Ireland, acting as a point of expertise advising colleagues and management teams on best practice, policy and legislative changes. Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will be expected to make decisions in respect of day-to-day payroll activity and manage resources to deliver payroll services effectively and efficiently. With responsibility for a team of 11 with 2 direct reports, you will manage, direct and support the Payroll Supervisors. You will manage the day-to-day relationship with our outsourced payroll provider. You will also be responsible for IR35 processing, payroll control completion, monitoring of the payroll team and overseeing various processes within SLAs and deadlines.

What are we looking for?
  • CIPP qualified or completed CIPP Level 3 (or similar) qualification
  • 5 years+ experience in payroll positions
  • 3+ years in a management position through significant change, developing your team
  • Experienced in managing pension schemes, with a good understanding of pension legislation, particularly Group Personal Pension Schemes and Pension Salary Sacrifice
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Confident dealing with a high-volume workload
  • Organised and methodical
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced changing environment
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills (including advanced MS Excel)
  • Experienced in team development, mentoring, coaching and driving performance
