The Role...
The Head of Group Internal Audit has overall responsibility for developing and building the Group Internal Audit function. The position is responsible for ensuring Internal Audit is closely aligned with industry best practices in executing the duties across the Group's operations.
Works to ensure roles, responsibilities, and results are efficiently coordinated and collectively optimising the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance of the company. The role reports into the Director of Group Reporting, Tax and Accounting on a day to day basis with a secondary line into the Chair of the Audit Committee and the CFO.
In addition to the above, you will also develop our Global Finance team through helping to drive continual improvements and adopt best practices across of our global teams in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America.

Main Duties...
- Establishing the Group Internal Audit function and implementing action plans related to risk assessment and annual planning, audit execution, audit reporting, staff recruitment and development, audit technology, and Audit Committee reporting;
- Develop and present the Group Internal Audit's risk assessment and enterprise risk assessment, developing an audit strategy and plan aligned to the risk profile of the organistion;
- Issue Internal Audit reports ensuring these are clear, concise, identify root causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management;
- Meet regularly with the Audit Committee to report the status of Internal Audit's ongoing monitoring activities, educate/inform the committee and senior management of emerging risks and/or exposures (whether internal or external to the company) that should be considered, and serve as a "thought leader" with respect to risk management and internal control best practices;
- Develop clear and realistic plans to tackle any identify areas of material weakness or significant deficiency;
Requirements
- Qualified accountant with 8 years' experience
- Prior experience of global group and building and developing an internal control function
- UK GAAP and US GAAP knowledge and experience desirable
- Technology Proficient (ideally a skilled user of Visio)
- Proven ability to take ownership of a project from conception to completion with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments in the UK and overseas
- You will need to be confident in dealing with senior individuals in the organisation
- The successfully candidate will be a committed, team player who is able to roll up their sleeves with a proven ability to deliver to demanding deadlines with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with advanced ability to interpret and present findings clearly and succinctly
