In a nutshell
To analysis and support for the Property Finance Business Partnering team. The role will deliver financial support to Sainsbury's Property division to support the delivery of our property strategy. This will involve liaising with a variety of stakeholders, providing guidance in working group forums and providing commercially astute guidance to our business partners. This role will also have the opportunity to get involved in appraisal assumption changes, future programme support and scheme evaluation.
What you need to do
Lead Finance liaison with Property and Retail to support in new property opportunities (new space and existing space)
Deliver store investment assumptions, evaluations, scenario analysis & sensitivity testing whilst controlling the integrity of investment calculations with guidance from the Investment Appraisal Manager
Oversee progress of agreed action plans and help drive these through to completion
Take ownership of investment appraisal models and assumptions therein with guidance from the Investment Appraisal Manager
Support business partners to navigate financial governance required for their investment requests
Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders
Share relevant tools and lessons learnt with Finance & Non-Finance stakeholders
What you need to know and show
Part qualified or qualified accountant.
Practical understanding, experience of strategic investment programs in the retail industry (desirable)
Expertise of major property investment evaluations (desirable)
Frameworks associated with governance and investment criteria in a large organisation
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner
Strong analytical skills, Excel & Access skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders & build trusted relationships
Strong commercial acumen and curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries
Strong presentation and communication skills (both verbal & written)
Resilience (flexible and able to cope with time pressure, risk & ambiguity)
Experience in a Property-related, business-facing Finance role (desirable)
Experience with identifying property-related risks & opportunities and driving value accretion and continuous improvement
Experience managing, influencing and challenging a large and complex set of stakeholders
Experience in presenting to and communicating with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
Fantastic inter-personal skills, an empathetic nature and a good sense of humour
A desire to achieve best in class business partnering
A desire for continuous improvement to be best in class
Strong planning and prioritisation skills
Experience in a large company environment, preferably retail
What decisions I can make including budget
Recommendations on process improvement
Prioritisation of own work as necessary

Working as part of the wider Business Partnering Finance team with significant collective experience and expertise
Individual 121 support from line manager
