Purpose of the role:
  • To provide Financial Support in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking functions
  • To assist in the completion of weekly and month end accounting requirements
  • To assist in the maintenance of all product codes within the business ensuring consistency across all product categories including the re-categorisation from Run Out process

Duties will include:
  • Process all non-stock purchase orders and ensure supplier receipt and agreement
  • Process of Purchase invoices to the agreed timetable ensuring accuracy of stock receipts against products charged
  • Check stock delivery notes received against daily GRNI report and prepare appropriate discrepancy reports informing appropriate teams for rectification
  • Assist in the preparation of Purchase Statement reconciliations in line with agreed timetable
  • To ensure Product Selling Prices on Sage agree with Retailer Master Price Files ensuring accuracy of sales invoicing. Assisting with Monitoring the Price Files in the system
  • Process of all customer invoicing and provide support in the collection of the debts in case of any queries
  • Assist in all postings to both sales and purchase ledgers as required during the month to ensure timely cut off to meet Management Accounts deadlines including preparation of accruals and prepayments
  • To control Foreign Currency Expenses - very minimal
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly stock counts

Desired qualifications

  • Candidates will need ideally need to have Math & English at GCSE (or equivalent) grade A*- Bor 9 - 6to be considered for this Apprenticeship
  • This apprenticeship would ideally suit someone with A Levels or other Level 3 equivalent qualifications
  • Level 2 AAT would be an advantage but not essential
