Job summary
Applications are invited for the full-time post of Research Assurance Assistant within the Research Office.
You will play a key role in supporting the audit coordination process and institutional audits of research administration. You will also be involved in supporting internal assurance activities to identify and mitigate organisational risk.
The Research Office formulates, and is the College custodian of, research funding policies which underpin the management of externally funded research within a devolved structure. It champions professional standards, best practice and consistency in research administration across the College to ensure that institutional governance responsibilities and obligations are met.
Duties and responsibilities
You will work closely with the Research Funding Assurance Manager and Research Assurance Officer to support the audit coordination process. This role will also provide administrative support ahead of institutional audits and other funder-initiated external audits and support internal assurance activities to identify and mitigate organisational risks relating to research funding management.
Essential requirements
You must have experience working in an administrative support role and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure are needed, aligned with the experience of dealing with a wide range of people. A clear understanding of the need and practice of customer focus and customer relationship skills is essential.
Imperial College is located at several campuses across London. Although the post holder will be based at South Kensington, they will be expected to travel to all campuses as and when required.
