Research Accountant

The Finance, Infrastructure and Corporate Services is a new directorate, following a consultation to streamline its professional and support services. It brings together the following functions : Finance, Research Funding, Procurement and Purchasing, IT and Corporate Information Services, Estate development and sustainability, facilities management, commercial services and university administrative support. The University now seeks to appoint a Research Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will: ·

Review the current Research provision from both a Financial and Research perspective and implement any changes needed to strengthen and future proof the department. ·

Provide specialist Research support responding to the changing requirements of customers and the University strategic objectives. ·

Contribute to the development of short and long term relationships with both internal (Business Development and Research Community) and external contacts ·

Provide system support in respect of the Finance and Research systems, with the ability to work independently to improve Research Business partnering throughout the University.
