Anderson Knight is delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a very successful UK wide client to recruit a Head of Tax position. Knowledge of the construction sector would be highly advantageous but this is not essential. Reporting to the Finance Director you will play a lead role in managing the groups tax affairs.
As Head of Tax, you will be responsible for ensuring two legal entities within the group always meet their tax obligations, lodge all tax related returns to a high level of accuracy and within the required timeframes, and provide relevant, up to date technical tax support to the business.
The main responsibilities the Head of Tax position entails are:
* Implement and maintain processes and systems to ensure the entities meet their tax compliance obligations
* Responsibility for bringing any tax enquiries and disputes to a resolution to ensure a positive relationship with HMRC
* Working with the wider Finance and Legal teams to ensure tax is appropriately factored into investment decisions
* Ensure any associated tax risk with the buying and selling of businesses is managed and liabilities mitigated where appropriate
* Consider what tax planning opportunities may be available to the business
To be considered for the role you must possess the following:
* An accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA) and/or CTA
* Ideally trained in big 4 practice
* Strong communication skills
* The ability to solve complex problems
* An outgoing personality
* A driven/motivated individual
The position is a hands on, exciting opportunity that will allow you to head your own tax division and provide advice to senior stakeholders across the business. The business continues to grow due to acquisitions and you will be involved in this process.
