Are you ready to put your Leadership to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, we want you to join our team as a Director, Mission Assurance 1. This position is located in Lake Charles, LA. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) Sector is seeking a Director (D1), Mission Assurance (MA) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The MA Director is responsible for establishing and leading the MA function for the Aircraft Maintenance & Fabrication (AMF) Operating Unit (OU), a key element of Systems Sustainment and Software (SSS) Business Unit (BU), part of the Global Sustainment & Modernization Division (GSM) within the DS sector. The AMF OU performs aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO&U) and fabrication solutions, depot repairs, maintenance services, aircraft refurbishment services, modification work, and engineering. As a key leader, partner and essential member of the SS&S leadership team, the MA Director will lead a high performing MA team responsible to facilitate a continuous improvement culture focused on increasing affordability, process effectiveness and efficiency; and will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the health of the quality system and the quality of the products and services. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading broad organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of employee engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. The OU MA Director reports to the Division MA Director with additional reporting responsibilities to the BU Vice-President. Roles and responsibilities:• Defines and monitors program specifications, quality metrics, internal audit metrics and processes to ensure mission success.• Promotes the professional development of the Mission Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.• Maintains the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.• Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.• Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, configuration and data management in accordance with contractual requirements.• Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.• Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.• Responsible for the preparation of proposals for the Mission Assurance team.• Frequent interface with executives and customer representatives including on-site DCMA representatives concerning projects, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.• Thought leader influencing and impacting strategy for the program, quality and Mission Assurance while driving innovative change.• Regularly analyzes alternative courses of action for continued program quality.• Use your complete and thorough understanding of all facets of Quality as well as proven leadership, and communication skills across all levels of the company• Establishes and nurtures excellent working relationships with all Customers both internal and external

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 years of related experience in Quality/ Quality Management/Mission Assurance
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Experience working with/managing personnel on international programs
  • Supplier Quality management experience
  • Experience leading ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certifications
  • Experience with FAA audits/requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the proposal process and BOE creation
  • Management experience and skills or other comparable leadership positions to include management of offsite personnel
  • Current Secret security clearance


  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Familiarity with MES
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification to drive continuous improvement
