Chief Financial Officer

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Chief Financial Officer based in Edmonton.

Our client is a highly successful Oil and Gas Service Company who is looking to hire a dynamic CFO to help drive performance and company growth.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer has direct responsibility for the Finance, Controller, IT and Accounting functions, and will be a key member of the senior leadership group creating value through improved operational performance and strategic guidance.

The Role:

• Act as trusted advisor to the President & CEO to help create and drive the strategic direction of the company.
• Ensuring the integrity, quality and integrity of financial reporting and requisite internal controls
• Overseeing and managing the financial planning and budgeting process
• Partnering with the business operations in order to provide clear and relevant information for effective decision making
• Leveraging the ERP and other systems to maximize capabilities
• Ensuring sufficient internal controls and procedures are in place
• Building business cases for potential capital expenditures or acquisitions and divestitures.
• Working with business units to improve their cost structures and operations

The Ideal Candidate:

• A strong, dynamic and passionate leader with a desire to make a real difference
• Previous experience in a senior leadership role overseeing accounting and financial positions related to controllership, general accounting, and financial analysis
• Possesses a track record of partnering with operations to lead improved and measurable operational performance
• Experience managing capital in a sophisticated manner, making decisions as to the allocation of capital, potential acquisitions and future growth opportunities
• A CPA designation is required

Compensation:

Compensation will be in line with experience with a strong overall package.
