The opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager the Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance team to manage the day to day financials ensuring the integrity of the groups accounting systems

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Daily reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards
• Reconciliation of General Ledger accountsEntering/receipting invoices and purchase orders
• Assisting the accountant in preparing creditor payment batches and staff reimbursements
• Assisting in preparation of monthly financial statements/reports
• Assisting the accountant in preparing and process fortnightly payroll
• Management of Payroll Tax & Workers Compensation
• Application of knowledge of AU GST and UK and US VAT GST
• Other accounting administration duties as required

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Have or be currently working towards an accounting degree with some practical experience
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and payroll obligations
• Experience using XERO accounting software
• Data entry skills with strong attention to details
• Positive can-do attitude and strong initiative & ownership
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Honest, empathetic, accountable, respectful, and transparent team player
• Self-motivated & life-long learner with strong focus on personal growth & self-development
