The Role
We are seeking a driven Financial Accountant to join our high-performing Finance & Strategy function to ensure effective financial management and control of our Independent and Assisted Living (IAL) business. You will work closely with the Finance Manger - IAL, IAL Executives and management to provide accounting services and ensuring best practice cost structures are in place. This role requires a team player as you will need to effectively collaborate with the broader Finance community and other internal stakeholders to enable fact-based decision making and to achieve business unit strategic goals and targets.
- Be a key contributor towards month-end closing, balance sheet account reconciliations and report cycle for IAL business in compliance with the Group timetable.
- Assist in the production, finalization and delivery of the monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual management reporting packs with relevant variance analysis in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly BAS and yearly FBT entertainment register and checklist.
- Support the delivery of internal and external audit processes.
- Assist and p articipate in the production, finalization and delivery of quarterly rolling forecast , strategic planning and budget reset processes for the business unit (P&L, Balance sheet, Capex and PIPs) .
- Support and collaborate with broader Group Finance & Strategy community (including M&A activity and due diligence) as required.
- Build effective and healthy partnering relationships with key stakeholders to manage costs, develop analysis and provide accounting support.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- CA/CPA qualification coupled with relevant accounting experience ideally in a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in system processes, variance analysis, reconciliations, issue resolution and journal processing.
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
- Competent Excel skills and computer literacy across financial software and accounting packages (e.g. TM1, SUN, Professional Advantage & Blackline).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to cultivate productive and effective working relationships.
- Drive to achieve results within time constraints and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work methodically with strong attention to detail.
