Management Accountant (Temporary)

About the Company:
The company is looking to appoint an experienced management accountant on a temporary basis to provide support in the preparation of accurate and timely company management accounts and provide technical guidance on financial matters.
Management Accountant Responsibilities:
- Liaise with auditors.
- Preparation of lead schedules with supporting analysis where needed
- Assist with the year-end reconciliations, analysis, and reports for the statutory accounts
- Assist with the processing of the financial year ends through Microsoft Navision
- Provide sample data for the auditors, review of stock, cash, and ledger postings etc to ensure a clean 'cut- off'
- Investigating site contribution, working with the existing finance team and the heads of department to analyse and understand individual site performance
- Assist the management accountant with the review of ESCo business performance and ensuring consistency of reporting across different sites
- Balance sheet reporting and analysis
- Cashflow forecasting
- Provide assistance in analysing of engineering labour costs by job type, and review of utilisation rates
- Ad hoc ledger assistance
- Journal postings
- Provide support on VAT returns
- Provide support on dealing with VAT queries
- Assist with the review of Microsoft Navision reporting with a view to upgrading to the next gen solution.
- Ability to operate and develop an integrated ERP system (Microsoft NAV)
- Advanced PC Skills (Excel skills - including V look ups and pivot tables)
- Sound, technical accounting knowledge
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines
- Proactive, self- starting ability to work on own initiative
- Flexible and willing to assist in other areas of Finance
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret large volumes of data into helpful management information
- Team player with the ability to cooperate with staff responsible for primary accounting records
- Ability to cooperate with departmental managers to design and deliver helpful management information output
- Qualified (ACCA/CIMA)
- Minimum of 2 years- experience working within similar position
- Experience of producing management accounts in a busy finance function and of providing a successful business partnering service.
- Knowledge of Microsoft NAV - preferable but not essential
- Knowledge of JET reporting or similar Power BI reporting - preferable but not essential
- Hands on ledger experience and ability to assist in both monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts preparation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work large volumes of data into meaningful summary reports for review and action by the wider business
- A self-starter with a strong 'can do' attitude. Flexibility is key as the work mix can vary from day to day
- Strong reporting and accounting skills
- Experience of Microsoft Navision would be an advantage but strong general ledger and Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups) are a must have.
