Finance Analyst - Collaboration and Alliances
You're a qualified finance professional with some post-qualified experience. Ready to join a large global company in a critical area of our business, being an expert & partnering within finance.
As part of a dynamic, global finance group, you'll focus largely on where AZ have collaborations / deals with third parties to help managing collaboration products under development. Your role will be to ensure finance elements within these agreements run smoothly.
You will need to understand the details of the contracts in regards of how it impacts R&D finance, understand both the AZ & third-party activities & ensure that settlement are completed in line with the contract.
This will give exposure to our core R&D business & the critically important area of third-party agreements. As such it provides great knowledge, experience & exposure within AZ Finance.

Cooperation and support of Project Finance Director / Manager with all aspects of third-party contract including:
Settlements & Underlying Accounting
Finance Partnering & Improvements

Accountabilities
Your main accountabilities will include:
Third Party Contract Support
Cooperation and support of Project Finance Director / Manager with all aspects of third-party contract including:
- Understanding the financial clauses in signed contracts e.g. construct of cost share arrangements
- Preparing detailed AZ reports for review and analysis
- Reviewing detailed third-party costs that will be invoiced to AZ
- Preparing and review of calculations & other summaries as required by the contract
Settlements & Underlying Accounting
- Ensuring payments / receipts (issuing invoices) are complete & made on time according to the contract
- Liaising with the AZ GFO (Financial Services) on queries & to ensure postings in underlying accounts are correct
- Accruals / prepayments reflect the contract activity
- Balance sheet reconciliations & other financial controls are carried out
- SOX controls requirements prosecution
Finance Partnering & Improvements
- Working across multiple areas of AZ Finance to improve processes, controls & education

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
Qualified finance professional (Master's degree or equivalent)
- Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills, including oral & written English
- Experience of accounting &/or controlling activities including:
- month-end close
- reconciliations & variance analysis
- financial controls & SOX controls
- Strong Excel skills
Desirable
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders inside & outside of finance
- Experience of working in a global organization
- Ability to use financial systems including SAP & Business Objects (or similar)
