The Museum of London are looking for a project accountant that is going to play a key part in the delivery of a multi-million pound capital project.
Client Details
The Museum of London tells the story of the capital from its first settlers to modern times. The galleries vividly tell the story of the city and its people. The organisation receives over one million visitors each year and holds the largest archaeological archive in Europe. The Museum also cares for more than two million objects in its collections. The Museum of London has sites in central London (near St Paul's, Barbican and Moorgate), Docklands and Hackney.
The Museum of London is planning to move and is at the early stages of a major new project to deliver a new museum. We want to tell the extraordinary story of London and Londoners in a new museum in West Smithfield near Farringdon, which itself is a deeply fascinating and historic area. We want to engage Londoners with their city and its history and display many more objects from our rich collection.
This is an opportunity to reimagine, reinvent and transform the Museum of London for its new home at West Smithfield. We have the support of the Mayor of London, the City of London Corporation, and many of our other supporters. A world-class design team is already in place and the project accountant is going to play a key part in the delivery of this multi-million pound capital project.

- Ensure that project expenditure is compliant with charity legislation, tax legislation, the Museum's Financial Governance and any specific project principles
- Support the Development team in reporting and managing fundraising progress and ensure that all funding requirements and conditions are adhered to from a financial perspective.
- Build relationships with internal and external project managers, design team and consultants as required during the project.
- Preparation of the Quarterly Forecasts, Annual Budget and Five Year Plan for the Project.
- Identifying financial risks or issues as they arise and ensure these are recorded and actions taken to mitigate or manage them.
