Accounting Supervisor - Immediate Term Opportunity

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit for an Accounting Supervisor, to fill an Immediate Term Opportunity, based in Winnipeg, MB.

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor for an immediate term opportunity. If you are a designated accountant or close to designated with 2+ years of experience and have previously supervised a small team, have strong general financial accounting background, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and hands-on to manage the complete accounting process, then we want to hear from you.

The Role:

• Overseeing and reviewing daily accounting operations of the team
• Ensure entries are processed correctly and in a timely manner
• Provide daily support to the finance staff ensure daily tasks are complete and accurate
• Review tasks, account reconciliation
• Managing and mentoring staff. Direct reports of 5 staff.
• Oversee and assist with budgets, payroll, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry
• Preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, preparation of monthly executive financial report.
• Maintain and implement finance, accounting and billing, procedures.
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards
• Other duties as required by the Accounting Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

• 3 plus years of experience as an Accounting Supervisor
• Fluent knowledge combined with education / experience in accounting systems and process involved with: Accounting, General Ledger and reconciliation
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Experience in SAP is an asset
