Description

This position leads a team that is responsible forimplementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with financial policies, US GAAP, and US Tax.

What You'll Do:

• Administer the accounting function, including systems and procedures, internal and external financial reporting, and capital asset accounting
• Develop plans to meet unexpected situations, new developments and changes in the business environment; evaluate, recommend and implement alternatives to existing procedures and financial reporting
• Plan and use resources economically and monitor expenditures
• Plan, organize, and coordinate the year end close and preparation of financial statements with external auditors
• Ensure the timely and successful completion of the company's tax filings
• Oversee the general accounting function, which includes cash management/reconciliation, P&L review and analysis, balance sheet management
• Possible other financial / accounting responsibilities as decided upon by the CEO

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in accounting; CPA certification
• Minimum 5 years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience
• Prior director experience required
• Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
• Experience in analyzing business performance and developing financial plans
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting, required
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
• Restaurant industry experience preferred
