Job Description

Job Description:
Credit Research sits within Global Treasury and advises the Bank's clients as well as sales and trading personnel, helping them to stay one step ahead of the market. Their impartial intelligence and independent research is key to shaping sales and trading strategies for clients and for our business.

Although the selected candidate will join us as an intern, you will effectively operate as the 5th member of the team, providing you with real world practical work experience and responsibilities including:

Content creation
  • Analysing market and economic data
  • Contributing to and writing internal and external research publications
  • Maintaining financial models and spreadsheets
  • Collecting and compiling data on both industries and companies
  • Attending external events including investor meetings and industry conferences.

Content distribution

  • Content distribution and template management (e.g. website SEO, email marketing)
  • Reproduction of content in podcast and/or video (including doodle videos)
  • Partner with Group Brand Communications to engage in social media marketing/sharing our content via Facebook/LinkedIn
  • Take initiative to engage internal audience/parties


This role gives the successful candidate exposure to both technical (Credit Research/Investment) and inter-personal (team and individual work situations) skills as well as an opportunity to learn about other functions on the bank's trading floor. Past interns have gone onto secure positions in credit rating agencies and professional investment managers. Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be able to commit to a minimum 6 months on full time basis
  • Pro-actively contribute to team activities.
  • Self management to work unsupervised to complete tasks as required.
  • Excellent written, reading and verbal English skills.
  • Good judgment and the ability to formulate convincing arguments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good MS Excel spreadsheet and familiarity with financial statements
  • Familiarity with design and marketing is a plus
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and programming skills is a plus
  • Strong excel/word knowledge
  • Background in Accountancy (preferred) or strong background in Finance or Financial Accounting


Preferred Course of Study:

  • Bachelors in Business/ Banking and Finance/ Accounting
