Based in Shoreditch, the EU Digital Accounting team has an opening for a Finance Manager to lead the controllership activities of the Amazon Digital UK Ltd entity including the annual statutory audit and other regulatory reporting requirements. The Finance Manager will collaborate as the primary point of contact with Tax, Legal, Finance and Tech teams for all EU Video and Music matters and will drive business initiatives including restructures and support simultaneous product launches in new markets, as the business continues to expand.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity with a strong ability to prioritise multiple projects and to independently execute deliverables with excellent communication and to a high standard. The ability to influence stakeholders will also be essential to succeed in this role.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ad hoc, cross functional project work, including, but not limited to, supporting business initiatives ensuring accounting and tax compliance;
- Ownership of monthly reporting for EU Video and Music;
- Ownership of the annual statutory audit, acting as the key contact point with the external auditors;
- Serve as the functional expert for cross-border accounting considerations;
- Building an efficient and effective internal controls environment that is consistent with Amazon's high standards and practices;
- Be key contact point for UK and Luxembourg Accounting teams;
- Applying knowledge of multiple reporting systems to deliver solutions. This requires advanced computer literacy (MS Office, especially Excel & Access) and the aptitude to understand system dependencies. Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion Essbase and database structures are an advantage.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• ACA, CIMA, ACCA or similar credentials required
• Relevant post qualification accounting experience (public practice/industry mix preferred)
• Strong focus on controls
• Detailed experience of a monthly close cycle, periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis with a knowledge of various GAAP accounting rules including US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS
• Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to successfully lead complex, milestone driven projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent analytical skills (Excel, Access)
• Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up
• Experience working with Oracle/COGNOS
