The delivery of immigration services begins with a potential employee's candidacy and carries through the employment lifecycle. The immigration team centrally invents on behalf of this population through the tools and processes for their successful global immigration filings. Projects improve the cost, quality, and regulatory compliance for immigration services at Amazon while maintaining a world class experience to Amazonians requiring immigration sponsorship.

We have a bold vision for the future, and are looking to technology to deliver services. Amazon is looking for a Business Analyst to play a key role in developing and implementing the data and analytics strategy and process to drive key decision making moving forward.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Global Immigration team is seeking an experienced, curious, and resourceful Business Analyst to discover and showcase program insights and drive recommendations for how the business is run. We are looking for someone with the uncanny ability to surface, build, and automate key performance indicators and program-wide operational metrics. You will also work on predictive analysis and hands off the wheel solutions to drive efficient program outcomes. This role will also be responsible for leading regional business reviews and turning data insights into trends and root cause for monthly business reviews.
The successful candidate will be highly analytical, excited by data mining and data integrity, and adept at generating insights to influence an ambiguous space. They should be experienced in working with large and disparate data sets, have experience working within a business intelligence environment, and is looking for the opportunity to utilize these analytical and modeling skills to influence the direction of a large and growing program.

Specific Duties:
• Operational Excellence - Drive regional and global data optimization and standardization while balancing the business value from flexibility and regional configurability for genuine business needs.
• Subject Matter Expertise - develop deep knowledge of immigration data structures used by Amazon and our outsource partners, advise the business on regional and global requirements and best practices for optimizing the use of Amazon People Technology
• Measurement - Develop measures to define progress and success; establish ongoing reporting requirements and key performance indicators.
• Business Requirements - Coordinate the collection and cataloging of regional business requirements including process deviations and localizations
• Data Analysis - Work closely with peers and stakeholders to access, pull, clean and analyze data from a variety of data sources. Gather new data, link disparate forms of data, and/or creatively use existing data to propose metrics and present them in compelling way
• Data Integrity - Work backwards from outputs (integrations, services, reports, etc.) to ensure all required data is captured, controlled and validated within upstream processes. Build a repository of data integrity challenges for each data element for action planning but also analysis across all data elements looking for common threads

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or higher in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related industry experience
• 2-4 years of experience with quantitative and qualitative analytics
• Advanced competency with SQL data mining and manipulation
• Advanced competency with Excel as well as data visualization tools like Quicksight, Tableau, and Power BI.
• Experience in relational database concepts with a knowledge of star schemas, Redshift, and SQL query optimization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or Master's Degree in related fields, preferably analytics
• Proficiency in statistics and use of statistical applications, such as R, Python, or SPSS
• Familiarity with AWS solutions such as Glue, S3, and Redshift.
• Capable of taking responsibility for an initiative and working with minimal direction; self-starter even when assignments are vague or undefined
• Proven analytical and quantitative skills to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses
• Creative in finding new solutions/designing innovative methods, systems, and processes
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, including handling encrypted files
• Experience with developing predictive or forecasting model
• Demonstrated track record of delivering large, cross-functional, customer facing products
• Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving; thinks big, starts small, grows fast
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences, both business and technical teams
