Responsibilities
Corporate Treasury (CT) is a corporate centre function covering asset-liability management, capital management and wholesale funding. This involves formulating, implementing, monitoring and revising strategies to achieve the Group's financial objectives within its risk tolerance and other constraints.

Within CT, Corporate Structuring supports the CFO and Corporate Treasurer in the development and execution of initiatives and strategies to manage DBS's capital and long-term funding as a strategic resource from both consolidated and entity perspectives.

This role provides an opportunity to work on planning/structuring and execution of transactions to achieve an optimum corporate structure (from various perspectives, for e.g. capital, accounting, tax), and involves detailed analysis and preparation of materials to support regulatory engagement, Board decision-making, senior management committees and business-specific working groups.
  • Research and conduct supporting analysis for different corporate structuring strategies for the Group in order to identify opportunities to better align accounting/tax/capital with firm strategies and initiatives
  • Assist in project management/ co-ordination and execution of transactions (capital/wholesale funding):
    • Support documentation and internal approval process for new initiatives
    • Ensuring proper analysis of risks/ consequences of transactions (from a legal/ tax/ capital/ accounting/ booking model) and all necessary operational aspects are clearly considered and executed
    • Collaborate with various teams/functions within the Bank in ensuring end-to-end process of project is covered
  • Assist in any ad-hoc projects required of the Corporate Finance team

Requirements
  • At least a University Degree in Law from a top university
  • 3-5 years' tax/ legal post-qualification experience, specifically corporate tax advisory from a top-tier legal firm
  • Cross-border transactions advisory - planning and implementation
  • Strong project management experience
  • Consulting and planning (for e.g. analyzing proposed transactions for risks from a tax/ legal perspective)
  • Solid understanding of IFRS/ tax would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proactive, accurate, accountable with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willing and capable to adapt quickly to changes in regulatory environment, willing to expand knowledge (in accounting/tax/regulatory space)
  • Possess good analytical and written skills
  • Confident and outgoing personality needed to liaise with various internal stakeholders throughout the bank and external advisors
