Job Description
The General Ledger accounting teams are the "gate-keepers" of the financial statements. GL accountants are experienced group of Chief Accountants responsible for end-to-end process. They are accountable for ensuring that business transactions are properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting process. General Ledger Accountants are the owners of the financial statements for each separate entity, as well as consolidated statements for the entire company. The General Ledger is the central core of accounting information system that provides a complete record of financial transactions over the life of the company.
Key responsibilities of our Senior GL Intercompany Accountant include:
• Acting as Intercompany Subject Matter Expert
• Preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations
• Supporting global Intercompany and global Intercompany loan reconciliations, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions
• Preparation and review of journal entries (settlements, WHT, loans, interests, eliminations) and accruals
• Preparation and review of Intercompany loans documentation and interest calculations
• Intercompany balance confirmations for Treasury and Auditors
• Cooperation with other GBS, Regional and Corporate Teams
• Providing support for internal and external audits
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant accounting requirements and internal controls
• Implementation of new solutions and tools, driving process improvements
• Providing work leadership to lower level accounting personnel on complex assignments
• Supporting supervisor in coordination of the team's work and various ad hoc non-standard tasks.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of professional experience in Intercompany/General Ledger accounting, preferably in US/Global Organization
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics, equivalent major or equivalent experience/professional qualifications
• Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred)
• Very good working knowledge of MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Very good teamwork skills and positive, proactive attitude
• Excellent work organization and ability to learn quickly
• English skills that allow to communicate fluently in everyday situations and actively participate in conference calls
• Openness to work partially on second shift when required.
