The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
The role reports into the CFO Finance Markets, acts as CFO - Global Markets
Global Markets (GM) will entail Macro Trading and FSS business as per current FM business hierarchy
The role has management oversight for the Macro and FSS Finance team & Regional business facing teams in delivering financial performance, financial & strategic planning, control and value add analytics.
The individual shall facilitate execution of business strategy by ensuring a robust control environment to secure a sustainable business expansion.
CFO will work with Regulators to ensure appropriate outcomes around current legislation, impacts of potential legislation and appropriate compliance.
Business
Corporate Governance
Business partner to Product Heads and a member of BMT - Responsible for Reporting Financial Performance and strategic advice
Regular Performance discussions with Product and Sales Heads
Participation in - Finance Top Team meetings, Weekly Balance Sheet Momentum Calls as required.
Alternate Chair of the Valuation and Benchmarking Committee
Management Information
Weekly Commentary and GM Tracker Report (Revenue, ROE)
Monthly - Monthly FM Performance Report covering Revenue, Strategy, Costs, RWA, Balance Sheet and Volumes. Sub product performance reports, Cohort analysis to ensure EVA accretive trades are being added to the book, MBR and CIB Performance slides.
Support populating Financials for GM Scorecards
Business Management & Planning Activities
CFO is responsible for leading the forecasting, annual budget and Strategic Plan for the underlying businesses
Prepare half year and full year business reviews packs, used also to provide external commentary for Investor relations.
Competitor benchmarking - supported by the Group External Performance Analytics team on quarterly comparisons with peers and deep dives where required.
Value add analytics and Strategic projects
CFO is responsible for providing strategic input in key projects within Business & Finance. They are also responsible for supporting decision making in an advisory capacity and providing value add analytics.
Balance Sheet management is a key part of the role, RWA management, returns and development of ROE for sub products. Liquidity management is key, engaging with Treasury on FTP policies and driving incentives/frameworks to attract high quality liquidity.
Financial Controls:
Support Product Control in effective application of accounting, valuation and financial control policies and procedures for Financial Markets.
Balance Sheet Management:
Support monitoring of RWA usage across products and ensure their drivers are well understood.

People and Talent
To lead, inspire and motivate the GM Finance team ensuring that everyone achieves their potential and that the team delivers its collective agenda
Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Risk Management
Participate in Market Risk and Traded Credit Risk discussions related to Financial Markets
Monitor Pillar 1, Pillar 2A and Pillar 2B usage of capital by Financial markets and optimise risk with respect to Stress Testing and other scenarios.
Governance
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner
