DESCRIPTION
Amazon India is a fast-paced, dynamic, high-tech company. Amazon's accounting team is looking for professionals who consistently exceed expectations, who thrive in a challenging workplace, and who can actively contribute to our talented team. The India Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, audits, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities as well as supporting new business launches as we continue to expand in India.
1. This position will have responsibility for supporting our financial reporting process for India entities and also as part of the global reporting process for Amazon.com, Inc.
2. Support and co-ordinate statutory audits, tax audits and other non- tax compliance related matters
3. Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to influence the design of systems, processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
4. Technical accounting research and position paper writing will also be a requirement of this position.
5. Industry experience of accounting in domains of intercompany, transfer pricing, treasury, GST accounting.
6. Drive continuous improvement and identify, design and implement scalable processes. Develop and implement best practices that can be used globally.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Accounting, CPA, Chartered Accountant or similar qualifications
• 9+ years of combined experience in Big-4 public accounting and multi-national corporations
• Experience preparing external facing financial statements
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills (including written English) and able to work effectively with APAC and Seattle teams
• Sound knowledge of , IND AS,IFRS and US GAAP
• Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and processes
• Experience identifying process improvements & supporting new business launch/initiative
• Experience of drafting accounting technical memos
• Experience of knowledge of working on ORACLE ERP
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up
• Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
• Excellent analytical skills
• Experience of working with US MNC
• Prior experience of managing relationship with Big 4 auditors will be an added advantage
