Provide strategic direction and leadership for CDU's risk management and internal audit framework

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We're not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We're about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As Head of Risk and Assurance you will set, lead and manage the University's risk management and internal audit frameworks and provide expert risk management advice, analytics and insights to key stakeholder groups. Developing and enhancing CDUs overall risk strategy and functions while embedding a positive risk culture across the University. You will plan and deliver the Internal Audit program, managing the University's outsourced internal audit contractor, monitoring and following up on outstanding audit actions.

To be successful you require a relevant postgraduate qualification in law, business, risk or a related field coupled with extensive knowledge and expertise leading and managing an enterprise risk management framework, preferably in a University setting. You'll possess a comprehensive understanding of contemporary risk management and internal auditing standards and you'll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills which will allow you to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
