• Location: Melbourne An exciting opportunity to join the Land Information & Spatial Services branch as Spatial Business Analyst (6 months, fixed term).

This is a key role within the Land Information & Spatial Service's (LISS) Vicmap Labs and Portfolio team. This team drives innovation within the digital and spatial domains by taking a customer-first approach to design and delivery of digital products and services.

We use Agile, Lean and Design Thinking techniques to deliver the most value for customers across government, the private sector and Victorian citizens. As the Spatial Business Analyst, you will work across the full range of initiatives to deliver Victoria's next generation of spatial data visualisation tools - touching on exciting new digital concepts such as digital twin, 3D mapping and digital transformation. You will lead customer/focused requirements gathering workshops and be able to translate complex user needs into user stories, technical requirements, and solution designs.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
  • Application of User Centered Design practices, including 'Design Thinking' to the process of requirements gathering and problem definition and experience applying Agile and Lean product development and design practices.
  • Knowledge or proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R or SQL and the use of digital tools, such as Jira, Sharepoint, Visio and similar would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of spatial/GIS tools and be familiar with working with spatial data and formats is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 6 months.
