Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £160/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:
·Support the Finance Manager on the planning and control of the budget and assist with the yearly budgeting exercise for the organisation.
·Provide support to a number of branches within the Strategy and Governance Directorate, understand their business, branch's budget activity and embed financial management within day to day work. You will be responsible for producing the Directorate's variance reports to report monthly and yearly financial information to senior managers to inform decision making and attend meetings as required.
·Manage the monthly accrual process for the Directorate to set timelines including the work undertaken by the member of staff. Work to include holding finance meetings, reviewing expenditure in returns, comparing data on finance system (SEAS) and producing monthly accrual journals. Oversee the preparation of other journals where costs have been allocated centrally and need to be reallocated to budget centres.
·Assist with the monitoring of branch budget forecasts including reviewing actual expenditure against forecasts and investigating reason for variances. To update actual and forecast expenditure into rolling forecast reports.
·Increase awareness of relevant financial principles to achieve value for money within the Directorate. Contribute to the improvement of internal controls and promotion of best practice of finance activities to non-finance staff.
·Support the preparation of information and evidence for internal and external auditors.
·Set-up requisitions on EASEbuy system for the purchase of goods and services for expenditure. Ensure receipt of good/services on EASEbuy. Review and validation of invoices for payment that have been posted to SEAS.
·Line Management responsibilities for one member of staff at B1 level

Essential Skills& Experience:

·Part Qualified Management Accountant
·Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to work as part of a team, as well as demonstrating confidence and tact working with customers at all levels.
·Excellent organisation skills to manage your workload, balancing the needs of the regular monthly and annual financial cycles with other requirements.
·Ability to empower, value, develop and motivate people to build effective teams to improve performance.
·Experience of analysing, interpreting and acting on financial information with sound knowledge of financial management including understanding of financial planning and budgeting techniques.
