Global Accounting Network are working with a FTSE 250-listed utilities business who are a prominent leader in their field and generate revenues of over £800m.

This is a prominent position in the London finance team and as the Finance Business Partner, you will work alongside the Technology Executive team to advise their strategic and operational decision making through insights that drive better performance. Our client has ambitious plans to expand this team in line with their commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, preparing, reviewing and monitoring our full Technology management accounts on an ongoing basis and identifying and explaining any discrepancies to our forecast models;
  • Support the development and on-going measurement of performance against existing KPIs and providing insightful reporting for the business area to drive improved business performance;
  • Developing, preparing, reviewing and monitoring all budget and forecast models and highlighting all risk and opportunities;
  • Maintaining and developing the existing Timesheets, Projects Costing and Capitalisation models to ensure that they provide insight and support Technology decision making. Ensure we have sound checks and financial and operational controls around these area - critical focus on scalability and long-term maintenance;
  • Working with the Technology senior management in preparing business cases and evaluating strategic opportunities;
  • Supporting commercial appraisals of prospective vendor/supplier tenders.


Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum +5 years PQE;
  • Proven experience working in a Technology FP&A/Management Accounting area;
  • Strong understanding of Timesheet, Project Costs and Capitalisation models;
  • Excellent business partnering experience supporting different business units;
  • Proven financial modelling, analytical and presentations skills;
  • Essential SAP and Excel exposure would be an advantage;
  • Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible;
  • The drive to deliver continuous improvements - solutions orientated;
  • A pragmatic approach and the ability to see commercial, customer centric solutions;
  • Highly effective communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas to a wide audience in a simple, understandable way;
  • A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure.
