These values are: Care Character Collaboration Position Summary: In accordance with the Wallick Mission and Values, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the overall accountancy for multiple properties within the Wallick Portfolio, to include affordable housing and senior living facilities. How You Contribute: Through communicating and collaborating with your team and business partners, managing and measuring work with an adaptable and detail–oriented style, and a continuous improvement mindset you will contribute to the exciting strategic growth Wallick will see over the next six years and more. Apply accounting principles to review, analyze, interpret financial statements: cash flow, income statements and balance sheets for all assigned affordable housing communities. Perform all accounting entries and analyze financial information specific corporate accounts. Maintain accurate general ledger, reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile balance sheet items, explain balances to operations when necessary, and make corrections when necessary. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with U.S. GAAP policies and procedures and HUD rules. Ensure accuracy of revenue and expenses. Provide direction and mentoring of other property accountants. Prepare documentation and coordinate annual audits and tax filings, and investor reporting for all properties. Complete reporting required by government agencies, investors, and operations. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for involving most recently audited fiscal year, current year activity, and property budget for upcoming fiscal year. Review job costs in Procore and Yardi systems reconciling, evaluating, and posting appropriate entries. Support Accounting Property Manager in evaluating cash flow and scheduling payments. Actively direct the recording of transitional properties either from a purchase, sale, restructuring, etc. How You're Supported: Wallick provides a competitive total rewards package to include salary (with pay–on–demand!), generous time off, and benefits that take effect after two weeks. Success Criteria: A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field; or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Intermediate knowledge of GAAP & tax accounting and budgeting is required. Basic knowledge of laws and regulations governing, HUD, Tax credit, public housing. Basic knowledge of construction, affordable/senior living development accounting. Understanding of partnership / LLC structures, equity ownership, fund accounting / modeling. Understanding of various types of debt structure, modeling and documents. Intermediate knowledge of accounting and IRS Section 42. Knowledge and ability to respond to MBI questions. Should be familiar with accounting software, in addition to Microsoft Office software. Must be intermediate to advanced in Excel. Ability to read and analyze financial reports and other accounting data. Must possess the ability to effectively present information to management. Must possess the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to tasks. Ability to make complex decisions requiring a high degree of judgment.
