Senior Financial Analyst
Temporary: 6 months
Day Rate: £460 (Inside IR35)
Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Public Sector on a temporary basis for 6 Months with potential extension.
Due to current circumstances this role will be based remotely.
Duties Include:
To build and develop a 10 year financial planning model which is fit for purpose and can easily be updated as key decisions are made.
To review the current systems and processes with the Corporate Finance function to identify opportunities for improvements through automation.
Work with the Corporate finance team members once models and new processes are implemented to review them in the live environment and make any adjustments, if necessary, to ensure they are fit for purpose.
To provide training and clear documented guidance to Corporate Finance staff.
Essential
Your professional skills and experience will allow you to navigate audit and accounting requirements in relation to a high profile programme of work, and develop these in practice. You will be confident in generating, identifying, interrogating and assessing appropriate financial data to support decision making, assuring appropriate accountability and value for public fund.
The post holder will need to be able to use effective leadership skills to be able to deliver results, promote collaborative working, and make connections across subject boundaries. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they can provide clear direction to navigate complex issues and competing perspectives at different levels, internally and externally
Professionally qualified accountant - CCAB/CIMA professional accountancy body or equivalent with up to date CPD
Advanced Excel skills with experience of building and maintaining flexible financial models.
Experience of working in a Project environment
Proven ability to work on your own initiative, to deliver high quality outcomes and outputs and to meet deadlines whilst managing competing pressures.
Strong communication & leadership skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders and to influence change.
Desirable
Knowledge of Scottish Government financial systems and policies
Change Management- experience in impacting and communicating changes to business processes
Awareness of GDPR/ Data privacy legislation
