Summary:

The Corporate Payroll Manager is responsible for managing corporate payroll operations, including both corporate and field payroll associates, ensuring compliance with all laws and statutes and ensuring timely and accurate payroll. This position reports to the Director of Payroll Strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and support corporate payroll operations for 2,500+ employees in 20+states

• Manage corporate Payroll Administrators with the goal of driving team performance to function in an efficient and effective manner.

• Insure compliance with all federal, state, and local statutes for a multi–state employer

• Oversee preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns for a multi–state/multi–company structure and execute all year–end balancing and filing processes according to APA guidelines

• Continuously champion improvement efforts and create and maintain payroll best practices

• Execute training and evaluation of direct reports as necessary, to include both Payroll procedures and system skills

• Execute training of field managers and payroll team

• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, Finance and Operations

• Adhere to strict confidentiality of payroll records

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Exemplary work ethic and ability to problem solve

• Strong analytical/organizational and leadership skills

• Payroll compliance knowledge

• Be able to lead in a fast–past, multi–location, high–volume payroll environment

• Must possess strong team building and people skills

• Must possess the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively under payroll deadlines

• Three plus years of experience with PR systems, preferably Infor/Lawson and Kronos or similar systems

• Strong technology skills with a focus on process improvement thru technology


Education/Experience:

• At least three years of payroll transaction/payroll tax management experience

• Multi–state payroll taxation and regulation experience

• Degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) is preferred

• CPP or FPC a plus
