The South East Region Learning Disabilities and Autism team aims to redress inequalities in health experienced by people with a learning disability and by people with autism and ensure that health outcomes to those groups are consistent with the rest of the population in the South East. The team aims to keep people at the heart of its activities with a view to considerably improving life expectancy, physical and mental health, journey through the health system and quality of both community and inpatient healthcare.

The Assurance (Relationship) Manager will work as part of a wider dynamic team both within local areas and across the South East Region and Specialised Commissioning to support the development and adaptation of services to suit the spectrum of individual with a learning disability and those with autism. They will take direct responsibility for oversight of a specific pathway or geographical patch in relation to all areas of activity. The post holder will provide the first line of assurance and improvement activity and support to local systems and providers, escalating issues that require more senior input as appropriate.

They will build strong relationships locally within systems and within NHSE to benefit the development of services and performance in line with the Long Term Plan and Building the Right Support. This will include working proactively with a wide variety of disciplines within NHSE, in local multi-organisational partnerships and with individuals and their families, and will include credible, professional challenge where required.

This is a fixed term contract for a 2 year period, to cover a secondment. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early.
