The role sits in the Operational Risk function, assisting in the operational risk oversight for the COO Functions."Job Level:Experienced Colleague
Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or trainingFor team leaders, accountable for ensuring the team the role supports is delivering a quality service or productWorks within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problemsDelivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve themMakes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situationsKey Responsibilities for this role:Ensure compliance to the people policies, Group Code of Conduct and embedding desired behavioursBe personally accountable for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks within your area of responsibility, including supporting formal risk management activities e.g. Risk & Control Self Assessments and timely closure of Assurance actionsAssist on the operational risk engagement with the Business Area on all operational risk matters and bring specialists in as required, including oversight of Business Area outsourcing partners.Assist on the oversight and guidance of Business Area implementation of Operational Risk Framework including workshop facilitation - e.g. RCSA, Notifiable Events, Risk Appetite (Tolerances, Limits and Triggers) and Scenarios.Help develop and maintain the relationship between the first line and Operational Risk that is positive, respectful and constructive including oversight of risk culture embedness.Assist on the delivery of Business Area specific Operational Risk trainingAssist in the review and challenge of Business Area led root cause analysis.Assist in the oversight and guidance of major Business Area specific change management programmes.Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Knowledge - Knowledge of operational risk within the asset management industry (essential)Knowledge - Knowledge of key concepts across Finance, Supplier, Data Governance, Change and Customer (desired)Knowledge - Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks impacting the relevant business areas.Skills - Strong presentation skills with the ability to explain and articulate asset management concepts (essential).Skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential).Skills - Ability to lead the team and work collaboratively with other teams across the three lines of defence (essential).Experience - Experience of working within second or first line risk teams within financial services (essential)Experience - Operational risk experience and embedding risk frameworks in either insurance or asset management firms.Experience - Experience working with a variety of senior stakeholders up to Board level (essential)Experience - Experience in operational risk oversight including the embedding of an operational risk framework in the first line of defence (desired)Qualifications:Relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma in Risk Management, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, IIA) - (desirable)Work Level:
