Job Title: Auditor

Location: London

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

Sitting within Group Audit (GA), the team provides audit coverage of both the Valuation Control and the Finance function and forms part of much larger global Finance and Risk teams. You will be exposed to specialist functions such as the Transaction Policy & Advisory Group, Valuation Control and Business Finance.

The team also works closely with other audit teams to provide 'joined up' assurance, as well to act in an advisory capacity on valuation risk and complex accounting related topics.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in audits and deliver planning, fieldwork and reporting stages of Audits; Preparing draft audit reports to high quality standards and within the Service Level Agreement
  • Execute day-to-day operational audit work including risk assessment profiles and business monitoring; identifying risks and the key actual controls, document process flows
  • Execute audit fieldwork in line with the agreed audit approach and testing key controls to ensure they operate in accordance with Global Audit standards
  • Explain findings in a concise and clear manner to Principal Audit Manager (PAM) and draft clear and concise audit findings for review by audit management, facilitates issue tracking, and validates the closure of findings
  • Communicate openly with divisional management and the internal stakeholders; Present complex and sensitive messages comprehensively, professionally and reduces complex topics to simple statements

Your skills and experience

  • Internal audit and/or big 4 audit experience in the investment banking industry, ideally with a focus on finance and /or Capital Markets
  • An understanding of Capital Markets financial instruments and expected controls around supervisory oversight over traders, financial reporting and valuation; trade lifecycle and where key risks reside within
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards and concepts and Agile methodology
  • Strong relationship management, analytical, problem solving, communication, influencing, planning and presentation skills; Able to work in virtual, global teams in a matrix organisation, transfer knowledge and develop capability of team members
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
