The Accounting Manager will support the Controller in handling all day-to-day accounting functions for 5 business entities. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas of accounting, including (but not limited to) payroll, receivables, payables, inventory control, financial reporting, cash control, account reconciliations, general ledger analysis as well as day to day problem solving and transactional flow. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Controller and works closely with the management team. The Accounting Manager coordinates the monthly accounting close and supervises all post-close activity including monthly financial statement submissions and other monthly reporting requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and optimize all aspects of theaccounting department including initiating new processes and procedures aimed at creating efficiency with theP&L, including revenue and cost drivers and be able to respond to questions regarding the data presented.
  • Serve as assistant to the Controller by ensuring that departmental procedures are properly documented and updated timely, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining system improvements, and implementing changes.
  • Provide leadership in directing the general accounting function, overseeing Accounting staff, handling any disciplinary issues, and performing evaluations.
  • Oversee all aspects of accounts payables, accounts receivables, and closely monitor cash functions
  • Make sure payroll is accurately processed, and all related reporting and compliance requirements are met.
  • Ensure proper reporting of transactions, prepare quarterly closing and related journal entries
  • Complete monthly period-end close related tasks including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with weekly forecast, monthly flash and annual operating plan development and analysis as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support with the annual budgeting process to the necessary departments.
  • Assist in meeting company objectives and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Protect organization's values by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Knowledge of, and hands-on experience in continuous improvement concepts.
  • Support multiple locations with the possibility of travel and commute

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 7+ years of hands-on accounting experience, with a demonstrated understanding of GAAP
  • Strong people/communication skills to manage information gathering requests
  • Results oriented, able to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite, and Advanced skills in MS Excel and other MS products a plus
