Job Description

Financial/Management Analysis & reporting: Analysis and reporting of monthly, and quarterly reporting for the JHIM business unit. Assist in consolidated review of the US & Europe region which includes JHIM, RPS, MIM business units. Reporting must be of high quality, timely and accurate, and provide insights into how the business is operating versus plan, prior quarter, prior year quarter and versus competitors. Reporting and analysis will also cover ad hoc reporting on all aspects of the business such as competitive analysis versus peers, sales and AUM reporting, etc.

Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis to management to support decision making and the achievement of business /regional and corporate targets. Analysis includes the identification of issues, opportunities, proposing solutions, communicating to the appropriate audiences. Work with the business units and the region to develop and report performance measures that provide key information in the management of the operations, including profitability measures. An understanding of the key business issues will be essential to allow provision of knowledgeable and insightful analysis.

Expense Analysis: Monitor and provide periodic analysis of the actual results versus plan to ensure that expenses are being effectively managed within the business unit and region. Contribute to the expense planning process working with counterparts in ESSC. In addition provide analysis and insights on how the business can be more efficient and leverage its distribution footprint.

Projects: provide support and expertise as required in the development of key initiatives and projects.

Key Shared Accountabilities:
  • Working with FP&A and A&R on regional and business unit analysis and reporting

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience, MBA or CPA Preferred
  • 6 to 8 years of related experience including solid understanding of financial reporting, project management skills and a proven ability to work across functions within an organization
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative, strong work ethic and the ability to gather, synthesize, organize and report information
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates a commitment to attain an expert knowledge of business issues across diverse businesses and regional unique issues - legal, regulatory and accounting
  • Strong computer skills and an expert proficiency using MS Excel and the Essbase add-in
  • Demonstrates proficiency with designing and troubleshooting excel-based financial reporting and analysis templates
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Lawson accounting segments and Essbase roll ups
