Position Summary:
This role is a Senior Accountant that will be instrumental in building out best in class project management and financial processes that help generate data-driven and actionable recommendations to improve the business.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with leadership to assess project performance by analyzing revenue drivers, cost drivers and identifying ways to improve profitability.
• Partner with Controller in preparing and/or reviewing the annual and quarterly revenue budgets.
• Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM's) and other project owners to set up projects in the accounting system, perform monthly billing, and review unbilled amounts to maximize our client billing for assigned offices.
• Assist the Controller in preparing for monthly project review meetings with the Project Managers and Office Principals to maximize revenue potential and investigate project performance issues.
• Review project forecasting documents with PM's, the Controller, and office leadership to ensure accuracy and reasonableness. Investigate issues/questions with PM's and office leadership, providing training as necessary.
• Generate and distribute monthly profitability reports, and provide meaningful insights to the Controller and CFO.
• Prepare special project analyses for the PMs and/or others.
• Provide year-end support of auditor requirements.
• Perform additional functions within the accounting group as assigned, including month-end close, accounts payable/accounts receivable processing, sales/use taxes, unit entry, state/federal compliance filings, accounting system audits and/or and financial reporting.
• Perform additional assignments, as directed.
• Be a key resource on finance team supporting forecasting, budget, and month end closing and business reviews.
• Be curious and eager to learn. Find key trends to help us improve and generate more profit for the Company.

Minimum Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline from an accredited institution
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience, or 3+ years of public accounting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Customer-centric focus and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Problem solving skills
• Multi-tasking and the ability to meet deadlines as well as adjust to changing priorities
• Collaborative and the ability to build and work across all levels of the organization as well as with vendors, subcontractors, and customers
• Professional with a high level of business acumen
• Can travel up to 10%

Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or eligible to sit for CPA exam
• Experience with accounting in a project-based and/or professional service environment
