STAFF ACCOUNTANT, FINANCE DEPARTMENT

A private nonprofit organization established in 1956, the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is a world leader in promoting quality health care. We provide services to international physicians who want to enter the U.S. health care system and physicians working worldwide. Since our inception, we have certified more than 320,000 international medical graduates. To name just a few, we serve physicians, members of the medical education and regulatory communities, health care consumers, and researchers studying medical education and health workforce planning. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STAFF ACCOUNTANT

As a Staff Accountant within our Finance department, you will:
  • Assist in preparation of operational budgets for ECFMG and FAIMER. This includes personnel, operating and capital budgets.
  • Prepare required state and local regulatory filings, timely.
  • Complete annual insurance applications and coordinate renewal process with agency personnel.
  • Perform treasury related journal entries and reconcile activity to credit card/merchant service provider records.
  • Maintain fixed asset and lease schedules.
  • Assist with process improvement and related documentation.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STAFF ACCOUNTANT
  • Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or eligible to sit for CPA Exam preferred.

Are you knowledgeable in finance, accounting and budgeting? Do you have a good understanding of accounting principals in the not for profit industry? Are you able to prepare and analyze financial report sand budgets in Excel? Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Do you have experience with Great Plains Microsoft Dynamics? WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position typically works 7-hour workdays, Monday - Friday, with a flexible virtual work arrangement.
